Opening the Muvyr
In December 2025, we gathered in Perm active residents of the city, municipal deputies and representatives of communities of small territories of the Perm Region for a dialogue with a unique person who independently revived an entire village — Alexander Gennadyevich Korepanov from the village Muvyr (Udmurt Republic).
At the meeting, the guests not only discussed pressing issues of territorial development, but also personally tasted natural dairy products, which are produced at the factory opened by Alexander Gennadievich in the revived village. The main result was a strong business and human contact between the Permians and the team from Muvyr.
Behind this fruitful communication is the story of a real feat. Alexander Korepanov is the one who resurrected his native village with his own hands. In the 1980s, Muvyr, like thousands of other "unpromising" villages, was razed to the ground: houses were demolished, residents were relocated. And today it is not just a place on the map, but a thriving settlement with dozens of houses, its own dairy farm and a mini-factory, tourist infrastructure, a chapel and a museum. Muvyr's story is living proof that even the most difficult task is possible for a single—minded person and a cohesive team.
The success of the film festival formed the basis of a large-scale event, which has already gained national fame. Every year, the village Muvyr becomes the center of a celebration of life and traditions within the framework of the ethno-festival of revived villages "Village is the soul of Russia"!
The meeting in Perm became the starting point for a new collaboration. Perm's active communities now have direct contact with a team that has proven in practice that village regeneration is possible even from scratch.
